This kid [Jasen Oden] looks solid, great depth for secondary and kick/punt returns. A nice article today on Rivals about him (link below). Quote: "He's an exceptional athlete," Newman said. "He has great speed, great field awareness, he's quick and aggressive, and he's a great tackler. He is also a great cover guy, so (CSU) got a quality guy." "NC Tech assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Askia Alkebulan added, "He's close to 6-1, 205 with 4.4 speed. He is one of those guys that, wherever you put him, he can play. the old man's name is carl and he is a stubborn old landlord who owns and manages properties around the Fort Collins. he was in my group in one of the forums (which are filled with old towns people and no students BTW) his argument is that CSU is an "education first institution" that prides itself on academics and that there are "tons of studies" about athletics ruining schools. First of all last time i checked i had a 3.0 and got into CSU. Other then ECU and Alabama it was the easiest to get into (i am from out of state) i realize we have some great programs but unfortunately we aren't considered a top notch university. An example i would like to use is Penn State. They have a giant stadium, a great football team, over 50,000 students, and require around a 3.5 GPA out of high school. this is what CSU should strive to be (and obviously is with the stadium). not only are they a better academic school, but they do so while letting in 20,000 more students then us. Academics would skyrocket if our football team started producing. we would receive more applications, allowing us to take the more qualified students while still keeping our number at around 30,000. I am open to, but have yet to hear a legit argument against the stadium.

I just hope CSU can build on the recent momentum. In my opinion we need to move forward on getting an on campus stadium. I would love to see this program make a giant leap and I am even dreaming of CSU getting into the PAC 12 which could become the PAC 14. Even joining the Big 12 would be great. I really believe with a level playing field like being in the PAC 12 then CU would find the rivalry would really be turned up a few notches.
